Like the type of people who are eco-friendly are the type of people who jog instead of have lunch, and cook all their dinners for the week on the weekend. Like super prepared and beautiful people who have their life together. But I'm beginning to disagree with my own definition.
The story begins in year 12 chemistry class, watching a video on clickview about how chemicals and products and "methods of doing" used by big (and small) companies are ruining the environment for humans along with pretty much everything/one else. For some reason it felt like this was the first I was hearing of this. I knew it was there, obviously, but I ignored it. Like totes not my problem.
However, after seeing this crappy school video I was enraged. Like seriously pissed. The solutions to the problems are there, but no one has taken advantage of them because the big wigs would lose money. It was then I realised that everything was a lie. I was being told lies. This was a dark period for myself. And probably those around me. (Sorry for the rare and crazy teenage revolutions mum).
Annnnnnnyway I researched and researched because that's what I do, and I ended up on this blog. My life was changed. Boom.
I bought the book I read it in two days. I leant that there are ways that people can reduce their own waste, their impact on the planet, and possibly, over time, the opinion of other people around them, so they change their actions too. Let it spread. Like a disease. Or mould.
So my new definition of "eco friendly" person is someone who is or is trying to, live as cleanly and simply as possible, and finds alternatives to wasteful and harmful materials/products/habits/etc.
So am I eco-friendly?
P.S the point of this post is to let you know I might include some eco-friendly alternative product posts and things like that. I will try to make it interesting. Try, not promise ;)
